Proverbs 11

     This week I chose Proverb 11: 13. It says, " A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret." This means that a person who spreads rumors and gossip can not be trusted by another with their secrets. I agree with this because no one can have confidence in someone who spreads rumors around all the time. You don't want to tell them anything.
     One Action step i can take for this is to not be the person to spread rumors. When someone tells me something I will make sure to honor it and keep it between me and that person.
     Second action step would be to when I tell someone a secret I would make sure they would keep it a secret and if they did I would be very disappointed and make sure to not tell them something like that again.

Proverbs 10

This week I chose Proverbs 10: 14. It says: "The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin." This means that smart people keep things to themselves and don't spread things around such as rumors. While fools talk about things and instigate problems with themselves and others. I liked this verse because I agree with what it says smart people keep things to themselves while foolish ones spread stuff around and only make other people mad. My first step to improve this is to be a smart person and not to spread rumors around. My second step is to try and stop all rumors that come to me and tell the person to stop spreading them too.

Proverbs 9

     This week I chose Proverbs 9: 12. It says: ^"If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer." This means the people who are smart will be rewarded by God in the long run, while people who mock or make fun of others will lose their friends and close ones. I thought this was good advice because those who are mean to others really do lose their friends. It is very important to be nice to everyone, you don't want to be considered a bad friend by anyone.
     My first action step will be to emphasize being nice to everyone and to not poke fun at anyone. My second step will be to give my friends reasons to be nice to me and think I am a good friend by helping them however and whenever i can.

This is a story of Joe Paterno's funeral plans. This is an interesting story because he was a legendary coached who has just passed away. He touched many many people and it is good to see how great of an influence he had on so many young people.

This story is about kids as they get older become more and more care free about their skin as they think it is important to look better. They are more concerned about their looks than their own health. I thought it was an interesting story at this time because in the winter more and more young people use tanning beds.

Proverbs 8

I chose Proverbs 8: 35. It says: "For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD." This means that those who keep Gods faith are better off and will be helped and guided by God. One action step I can take in my life to ensure of this is to keep going to mass every Sunday and listen to all the readings. Another step i can take is to help and make sure my family and friends stay close with God so we can all be in good health and guidance from the lord.

Feature Story Ideas

My first idea for a featured article is the Birdie Mobile. The birdie mobile is owned by the Neary family. It would be interesting to show everyone how much work it actually took to make such a sweet ride.

My second idea is the growing concern of lack of snow days. And the growing disappointment from the seniors.

This articles were both very interesting but i will talk about the first link. It is a story about NFL quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow is a well known Christian to everyone who follows the NFL. He has had many wild comebacks this year resulting to lots of attention towards his deep belief in God. So last Sunday when he passed for 316 yards there was much attention drawn towards the bible verse John 3:16. I thought this was a good feature story because it isn't a high news story but it is a very interesting read.
