Proverbs 1
I chose Proverbs 1 : 8 as the verse that caught my eye. It says : "Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching." This is telling us to obey and listen to our father and mother. This is trying to tell me to do a better job of doing this. It's very easy as a teenager to disagree and want to argue with your parents. I know I can have trouble with this sometimes and I can definitely do a better job of listening to them. For my Action Step I want to try and obey my parents more without a question or comment back to them.

Great verse to choose! It's too common these days for us to ignore our parents' advice and to blow them off. Most of the time it's because we think they're out of touch with our generation and our life; they simply don't know. But trust me, your parents have plenty of wisdom and 99.9% of the time, they know what they're talking about!
ReplyDeleteLast night my dad asked me clean the kitchen and take out the trash. After i did this article i remembered that i should listen to my parents an do what they say. So i did that and helped me get along with my dad better and everything went nicely without argueing. Now i hope i can continue to learn and do this more.
ReplyDeleteGood! It's easier to go along with what your parents say and ask of you than to fight them...nothing gets accomplished by arguing with them.
